The mix up and the Triathlon

The mix up all started when we got home from soccer Friday night and tossed everyone in the bath.  When the twins got out they ran around in the buff for a minute and then they each handed me their PJs...

The next morning was the triathlon.  I left and Brandon dressed and packed up all the kids.

After the triathlon and after we arrive home I told Parker (in the blue shirt) something and he looks at me and says "I'm not Parker. I'm Colby". Sure enough I check his ears and he is Colby!

~The boys handed us the wrong pj's
~Slept in the wrong beds
~Sat in the wrong car seats
~Were called the wrong name for over 15 hours (ok, they did sleep part of that)

All this and probably more before one of them told us we had them mixed up!
It took 2 1/2 years before we really got the mixed up.  Not bad? Or really embarrassing?

The Triathlon
One day Cami (my sister Cami) asked if I wanted to do a triathlon with her. I just laughed at her. I had an 8 week old baby and 4 other kids.  I really thought she was joking.  I walked away.  But I started thinking about it...this is the first baby I have had that will take bottles (actually that is all she will take).  That means I have more freedom with a new born than I have ever experienced. I came back 10 minutes later to Cami and told her I wanted to do one,
but first I made her promise up and down to help me.  I thought I was crazy, but it sounded just crazy enough to be fun.

So I started training and realized how unbelievably out of shape I was.  Brandon was AMAZING to give up a lot of his mornings at the gym to let me go. He took care of the kids at night as well so I could go biking at night and eventually bought me a used treadmill!  Cami babysat several times so I could go swimming and Lori watched my kids several times at her house so I could use her treadmill.  Training really wasn't easy to fit in my schedule with 5 kids 5 and under, but I did with the help of my WONDERFUL family.

I did it! I won't say how long it was (obviously not a full triathlon since I am not dead), but I did it! How many people can say they did a Triathlon with 5 kids 5 and under. I won't lie, I feel cool saying that!
